BREAKING NEWS as of 11/02/2022: Monarchs are beginning to arrive within the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve! Estela saw her first monarch in Angangueo and Sara Dykman spotted one in El Rosario Sanctuary. And Ana Moreno shared that more than a dozen butterflies were seen in the village of Macheros.

Peak activity in the Eastern Flyway is largely concentrated along the Gulf Coast. Migrating monarchs are being widely reported, and Journey North volunteers are taking delight in witnessing snippets of fall migration.

Journey North volunteers in Texas started reporting monarch roosts at the end of September and since then, the state has become a hotspot of activity. Fall roosts and peak migration events are on the rise.
